Thanasis is admitted to practice law in Greece (Supreme Court) and New York, U.S.A.

Before moving to private practice as Partner in a Piraeus-based law firm (2019-2024), Thanasis served as Legal Counsel (2004-2010) and General Counsel (2010-2019) of Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc. As of 2024 he has founded Rousopoulos & Partners Law Firm that aspires to become a client-centric, results-driven, full-service law firm.

Throughout his career, Thanasis has focused on shipping law and he regularly advises shipowners, ship managers, but also brokers and traders. His shipping practice includes advisory on corporate law and corporate governance, tax advice, banking, and S&P. He handles dry and wet shipping matters and claims regularly appearing before Greek Courts in shipping litigation matters, carrying out end-to-end LMAA and other arbitration proceedings and co-ordinating complex international litigation.

Thanasis is a multidisciplinary business lawyer with extensive practice in the handling and negotiation of complex investment projects, joint ventures, M&As and real estate transactions. His business acumen is further strengthened by his significant litigation experience and steady involvement in dispute resolution and enforcement. Throughout the years, Thanasis has also developed an expertise in a wide range of tax matters, including tax planning, succession planning and handling of tax audits. As part of his legal practice Thanasis advises private clients on a variety of personal, family, succession, investment and tax matters.
